Aims and Scope

The International Journal of Open Problems in Computer Science and Mathematics (IJOPCM) aims to provide an international scholarly platform for publishing high-quality, original research addressing significant open problems in computer science, mathematics, and their interdisciplinary applications.

The Journal welcomes theoretical, analytical, numerical, computational, and applied contributions that formulate new open problems, provide partial or complete solutions to recognized open problems, develop innovative methods for addressing unresolved questions, or establish new connections between mathematics and computer science.

Manuscripts are evaluated according to their originality, scientific significance, methodological and technical soundness, clarity, ethical compliance, and relevance to the Journal’s aims and scope.

Core Scope Requirement

To be considered within the scope of IJOPCM, a manuscript should satisfy at least one of the following conditions:

  • Formulate a clearly defined and scientifically significant new open problem.
  • Provide an original partial or complete solution to a recognized open problem.
  • Present a new theorem, proof, counterexample, model, algorithm, or computational method that advances the understanding of an unresolved problem.
  • Develop a novel theoretical or computational framework whose relevance to an open problem is clearly demonstrated.
  • Critically review an established research area while clearly identifying unresolved problems and directions for future research.

The open problem addressed or proposed must be stated explicitly in the manuscript, and its significance, originality, and relationship to the existing literature must be clearly explained.

Manuscripts that merely apply standard methods to routine datasets or applications without demonstrating a clear connection to an open problem, unresolved question, or substantial theoretical or computational contribution may be considered outside the Journal’s scope.
